Artful Audit

Frequently asked questions

What Artful Audit is, how your document is handled, and what you get back.

Is this proofreading?

No. Proofreading fixes surface errors. Artful Audit is a structured pre-submission review: it flags what to fix, but also what to verify, reconsider, and preserve, organised by priority and keyed to locations in your document.

Will you rewrite my document?

No. We deliver a report, not a rewrite. We identify issues and suggest concrete changes; you decide what to act on, and your voice stays your own.

Do you detect AI writing?

No. The 'Generic / AI Surface' category flags passages a human reader may experience as generic, over-smoothed, or under-evidenced. It is about how the prose reads, not a claim about whether AI was used. We do not do AI detection.

Will my document be used to train AI models?

No. Your document is processed to produce your report and nothing else. Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from training on it.

Who can see my document?

Your audit is automated: no member of staff reads your document as part of the audit. Access to stored files is restricted and only happens in narrow, exceptional cases (such as investigating a technical fault), under confidentiality. See our Trust & Confidentiality statement.

Can I delete my document?

Yes. You can request deletion at any time from your account, and documents are deleted automatically after the stated retention period. Deletion removes the stored file and any derived copies.

How detailed will my report be?

It varies with the document's length, complexity, and tier. You receive a snapshot, prioritised findings keyed to locations, detailed findings by category, and a global assessment with a recommended revision order.

Can I submit multiple chapters?

Yes. Artful Audit is designed for repeat use; you can submit related documents and keep your project history together.

How long does it take?

Normally within 6 hours. This is a target rather than a guarantee, and can vary with demand and document complexity.
